Remote Access Solutions:
Now
you can get local-call access to the Internet from every major
city in the world through PLR Consultants True Global Internet
Roaming service enabled through iPass! This is a cost-effective
solution for business travelers and telecommuters who need to
make long-distance telephone calls to access their home Internet
accounts.
What
do you need to use the service?
All you need is a PLR Consultants account and the iPass connection
software. There are three connection software options: iPass
Dial Wizard for Windows, iPass Dial Wizard for Macintosh or
Microsoft Connection Manager for Windows. The connection software
has a very simple point-and-click interface that allows you
to connect to a local access number from around the world in
seconds. PLR Consultants provides this to you at no additional
cost. You maintain one account with PLR Consultants, continue
to use the web browser and e-mail program of your choice, and
always use the same user ID and password.
What
are the benefits?
Roaming charges are significantly less than long-distance charges
Get better quality Internet connections with local calls
Log into a local number from around the world with one account
Gain access to all Internet services such as e-mail and WWW
Receive only one bill for all Internet and roaming charges
How Does it Work?
iPass forms relationships with ISPs around the world that have
the highest quality Internet access networks and that provide
access in far reaching locations. iPass provides software to
PLR Consultans that enables these access networks to be available
to you. This software facilitates secure routing of user authentication
requests over the Internet between PLR Consultants and other
providers.
When you
travel outside of our regular service area, you can dial into
any of the worldwide iPass access points using your iPass connection
software. You will log in with your standard user name and password
(appending @***Domain*** at the end of your user name, e.g.
john@plrmail.net). Your authentication request will be encrypted
and sent over the Internet to your home provider's authentication
server. The server will check your information and send an authorization
response (or denial if appropriate) back to the ISP you are
dialing into so that you can gain access to the Internet. This
process takes about five to ten seconds. iPass tracks the time
you are connected to enable your ISP to accurately bill you
for the services used.

How
to Roam
The
iPass connection software contains an international phone book
with iPass access points and login information. A simple point-and-click
interface acts as an "assistant" and creates a connection
to the Internet based on the country, city and phone number
selected.
Connection
software:
Microsoft
Connection Manager for Windows.
Before
You Roam
There are three important things to do before you travel -
Test the
connection software before roaming: Follow the instructions
for installing Microsoft Connection Manager and test its operability
before you begin traveling. We suggest that you test several
access points.
Understand that modems function differently worldwide: Many
countries have different telecommunications laws and practices.
Check with your modem supplier to ensure your modem will be
compatible with the phone systems in the country where you are
traveling. Many of the older modems are not compatible from
country to country. Make sure you also have compatible electrical
power adapters for the country where you are roaming. For comprehensive
information about international phone systems, or to purchase
the adaptors you will need while traveling, please see: http://www.teleadapt.com/ipass.
Update your
iPass connection software: Before you begin roaming, consult
with us to make sure you have the most recent release of the
iPass connection software. This will ensure you have the current
access numbers before you roam. iPass adds new phone numbers
regularly.
